MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate women's golf traveled to Georgia for the Brickyard Collegiate, hosted by Mercer University. Due to weather on Monday, round one of the tournament was played on Sunday, with the final round being held today.
The Spartans were led by
Madison Dixon, who finished in the top 30. Dixon carded scores of 81 and 77 for 158.
Eliza Whiteside was second on the scorecard for Upstate, posting a score of 76 in the first round and finishing the tournament with a total score of 159.
Grace Garner improved her play by four strokes in the second round, going from 83 to 79 for a total of 162.
Rounding out the scoring was
Supatta Puttanavarat with a total score of 163 and
Alexis Rieli with 165.
Head Coach
Todd Lawton said, "We've seen some really strong performances individually this year. Some for single rounds and some for entire tournaments. With us heading to the Big South Championship this weekend, we will focus on what made performances great and work on the plan to get those performances. Putting together a great team effort is very much on all our minds."
