Players to Watch
Upstate: The Spartans look to carry momentum from the historic 2024 season into 2025. Upstate has key pieces returning this season for both offense and defense, including 2025 Big South Preseason Forward of the Year Dara Russo, who led the team in goals, points, and shots. Senior defender Catarina Dantas was tabbed the 2025 Big South Preseason Defender of the Year. Five other Spartans were named to the Big South Top Returners to Watch List, including Riley O'Bryan, Paige Armstrong, Emily Rangel, Savannah Noll, and Hailey Sapinoro.
 
Wofford: Senior forward Ines Obradovac returns for the Terriers. She has been the stat leader for goals, points, and game-winning goals. Another piece to the offense for the Terriers is forward Kate Markey, who registered a team-high five assists last season. Defender Bailey Mullen returns to the backline.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
Upstate will travel to North Carolina, taking on the Davidson Wildcats for the second match of the season on Sunday, August 17, at 1:00 pm.
