SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Following the Thursday night season opener against Georgia State, Upstate Men's Soccer looks to build with taking their talents to Virginia for an evening match against Liberty University at 5:00 P.M. This will be the third consecutive year both opponents face off against each other with the Flames currently winning the last two matchups.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Freshman Midfielder, Lucas Bergfors made his Upstate debut under the lights count as he filled the stat sheet with his first collegiate goal and first collegiate assist in the 2-2 draw against Georgia State Thursday night. Bergfors has shown his competitive edge through preseason training, exhibition play, and the season opener in front of Spartan Army. With a goal, an assist, and three points to his name, Bergfors will look to stay consistent helping the Spartans add their first win in the Michael Antoniewicz era while snapping the losing streak against the Flames.
Liberty: Sophomore Midfielder, Aidan Morrison opened the new season contributing with two goals scored on five shots (three on goal) and four points in the 9-0 win against Regent Thursday evening. Morrison returns to the Flames' lineup after appearing in 17 games while starting 16, scoring two goals, adding three assists, with seven points and a .133 shot percentage. Morrison will look to challenge Upstate's defense and continue their streak over the Spartans.

Following the evening matchup at Liberty, the Spartans will return to the Palmetto state to regroup and prepare for an in-state battle in Columbia when Upstate Men's Soccer travels to the University of South Carolina for a Friday night matchup on August 29 at 7:00 P.M.
