USC Upstate: Showing why she was a preseason All-Big South selection, senior middle blocker Ady O'Grady ended the season's opening weekend as the league's leader in kills per set, points per set, and hitting efficiency. Accruing 34 kills and 42.5 points over 10 sets, she posted 3.40 kills and 4.25 points per set behind a .542 hitting efficiency. Adding nine total blocks to her weekly total, O'Grady surpassed former teammate Nikki Deslatte for fourth on the program's Division I era (2007-pres.) career blocks leaderboard in Saturday's sweep of Northwestern State.
 
Queens: Through one weekend of competition, redshirt sophomore right-side hitter Emma Norris leads the Royals in scoring, pacing the team in kills, total blocks, points, and hitting percentage. In three matches, she's totaled 36 kills (3.27 per set), 17 total blocks (1.55 per set), and 46.5 points while posting a .443 hitting efficiency. Norris enters the week featuring three matches with 10-plus kills in 2025.

Coming off the team's first home action, USC Upstate returns to the road for the team's final "preseason" tournament. The Spartans head to UAB for the Blazer Invitational, facing the host Blazers, North Alabama, and Tennessee Tech.
