Dean Frankenberg

Dean Frankenberg assumed the role of Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Internal Operations at USC Upstate on January 3, 2023.  
 
Frankenberg joins the Spartan Army from Belmont Abbey College where he was the Assistant Director of Facilities for the past year. While with the Crusaders, Frankenberg managed game day operations including handling visiting team interactions, crowd control, ticketing, security, and facility maintenance for game day needs.  

Prior to his time at Belmont Abbey, Frankenberg served as a Graduate Assistant for Procurement and for Intramurals at Valdosta State University while he furthered his education. As a Graduate Assistant for Procurement, Frankenberg was responsible for purchase orders, order processing for the business accounts, records, documents, and maintaining meeting minutes. In his role overseeing intramurals operations, Frankenberg was responsible for leading and supervising 20 staff members as well as supervising each sporting event, arranging training schedules with game day officials and marketing staff, and completing administrative operations efficiently and effectively to progress special projects.  

While attending Tiffin University, Frankenberg spent his time not only playing on the men’s soccer team but also in the Student Support Center as a tutor. In his role as a tutor, Frankenberg supported students through mathematics and business courses, led peer assisted learning groups, scheduled and managed appointments and tutors while upholding and executing the policies and procedures of the Student Support Center to provide service and support to his peers.   

Frankenburg received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport Management with a concentration in operations and a minor in marketing and finance from Tiffin University in 2018 and earned his Master of Business Administration in Administration and Management from Valdosta State University in 2020.
