Makayla Nichols joined USC Upstate Athletics' Student-Athlete Enrichment team as a Student-Athlete Enrichment Assistant on August 9, 2021.
Nichols, a DMV native is a graduate of The University of Mount Olive where she was a women’s basketball captain, three year starter, and nationally ranked FT shooter. She brings a tremendous amount of leadership skills, being a part of many different organizations such as S.A.A.C and FCA.
She graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management. During her time within the business department she was also a Marketing Intern for the Tillman School of Business. She conducted interviews, created new digital content on all social media pages and platforms, updated students and staff on business related events, engaged with students and staff via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn on a daily basis.
At UMO, Nichols also spent many hours helping with study hall, community service events, and gameday operations. Â

She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at The University if South Carolina Columbia in Sport and Entertainment Management, expected to graduate in 2023.
