Final Stats

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Seniors Anna Novo and Daniela Lovera each posted singles wins, but it wasn't enough for the USC Upstate women's tennis team on Friday afternoon, as it fell for the second time this year, 5-2, at UNC Wilmington at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

After dropping a hard-fought doubles point that included a 9-7 loss at No. 1 doubles and an 8-6 loss at No. 3 doubles, the Spartans couldn't get back on track. Down 3-0, Lovera posted one of the wins at No. 4 singles, a 6-4, 6-4 win over Chelsea Kahle. However a win at No. 3 singles clinched the match for the Seahawks (6-0 overall) before

Novo finished off a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kayla Schwenk at No. 1 singles.

Upstate (4-2 overall) gets back to action on Sunday when it travels to Georgia Southern for an 11 a.m. non-conference match.
