The USC Upstate women's tennis team posted its 15th straight Atlantic Sun Conference win and the team's fifth straight win as it downed Campbell, 7-0, in an A-Sun match on Saturday at the Nesbit Tennis Center.
The Spartans (9-2 overall, 4-0 A-Sun) won the first two doubles matches to clinch the point, as senior Daniela Lovera and freshman Ana-Sofia Camberos notched an 8-3 win over Borislava Nikolova and Cortney Armitano at No. 3 and senior Anna Novo and sophomore Emilia Milovanovic added an 8-6 win over Ana Surviladze and Cristina Garcia at No. 1.
In singles play, Upstate continued to roll, as Novo notched a 6-2, 6-1 win over Saenz at No. 1, Camberos added a 6-4, 6-1 win over Armitano at No. 6 and junior Carolina Bello posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Surviladze at No. 2 to clinch the match. Freshman Cinthya Lazaro added a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 3 over Anais Gomar, Milovanovic added a 7-5, 6-3 win over Nikolova at No. 3 and Lovera wrapped up play with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Garcia at No. 4.
Both Novo and Lovera remained perfect on the season at 11-0 in dual matches, as the Spartans sent the Camels (9-7 overall, 1-3 A-Sun) to their second straight defeat.
The Spartans get back in action on Tuesday when they head to Kennesaw State for a 1 p.m. A-Sun match to make up a postponed match from March 15.
