Harris Recognized With All-Tourney Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Following her standout performance at the Wofford Tournament this past weekend, newcomer Cori Harris has been recognized to the Wofford All-Tournament Team along with six other stand-out athletes.

The 5-10 outside hitter made a huge impact for the Spartans on the weekend with 53 kills over 103 total attacks in 12 sets (.388). Harris also recorded a trio of assists for the “U”, five aces, and 42 digs.

Harris, comes to Upstate from Champaign, Ill. and was prepped at Centennial High School where she was a four year letterwinner in volleyball under coach Stan Bergman. Harris also lettered in track for one year during her time at Centennial.

During her senior year in Illinois, Harris put away 258 kills, 99 aces and found 159 dig, was a 2009 all-area player of the year and a member of the all-decade team. Also a 2008 and 2009 first team all-area selection, two-time Big 12 Conference team selection and AAU 17 club all-star team member, Harris is proving to be quite the addition to the Spartan squad.
