KENNESAW, Ga. – Despite dropping the doubles point at Kennesaw State, USC Upstate claimed four singles matches en route to a 4-1 victory on Sunday at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center.

"With the weather conditions the way they were, it was rewarding to pick up a win," said head coach Oliver Trittenwein.  "Having to wait an extra day to play wasn't ideal, but our team came ready to play today."

At singles number one, Edgar Rodriguez claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory over KSU's Gianni Kubin.  Meanwhile, Ramiro Blanco downed Simon Janik at singles number two in straight sets (6-0, 6-4).

Matias Di Pasquale, playing at singles number three, defeated Gokalp Ozdemir, 6-3, 6-1.  Gonzalo Blanco gave the Spartans the win after rallying past Elliot Kahler.  Blanco dropped the first set 5-7, before claiming sets two and three, 6-4, 6-2, repectively.

The Spartans will return to action next weekend when they host Lipscomb on Friday.
