SPARTANBURG, S.C. ­– Despite a 6-2, 7-5 win by Ana-Sofia Camberos at singles number two, the USC Upstate women's tennis team fell at home on Friday to visiting Lipscomb by a score of 6-1.

Camberos claimed the straight set victory over Lipscomb's Elizabeth Keevil.

Maria Tonani put up a fight at singles number one after dropping the first set by a score of 6-2 to Kara Jackson.  In the second set, Tonani battled back and forced a tiebreaker but ultimately lost the tiebreaker (8-6) and the match.

Karen Martinez and Talia Rojas also had strong battles at singles number three and four, respectively.  Martinez dropped the first set, 7-5, but claimed the second set by a score of 6-0.  In the tiebreaker, Alyssa Bellini defeated Martinez by a score of 6-1.

Rojas claimed set one by a score of 6-2 against Danielle Hansen.  However, Hansen rallied for a 6-4 win in the second set and claimed the tiebreaker, 6-2.

The Spartans will wrap-up the home slate tomorrow when they host Belmont on senior day.  The match time has been changed from its original time of 2:00 p.m. to a 10:00 a.m. start.
