Women's Tennis Drops Road Tilt at Davidson, 5-2

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Playing the first of two matches this weekend, the USC Upstate women's tennis team fell on the road at Davidson, 5-2, Friday evening at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

Upstate's (2-3) Isabel von Stryk and Talia Rojas claimed an 8-2 victory at doubles No. 1, but Davidson (3-4) rallied to claim the doubles point after a pair of 8-4 wins at doubles No. 2 and No. 3.

Von Stryk picked up a victory in straight sets (6-4, 7-5) as she downed Stephani Synn at singles No. 1.  Ana-Sofia Camberos returned to action Friday and claimed a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 victory over Frizzi Bschorer at singles No. 6.

Davidson claimed victories at singles No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to claim the 5-2 win Friday.

The Spartans will return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. when they host South Carolina State.
