Women's Tennis Falls to Longwood in Non-Conference Finale

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate claimed the doubles point, but the women's tennis team was unable to hold on as Longwood claimed a 4-2 victory Monday afternoon at the Upstate Tennis Complex.

Talia Rojas/Isabel von Stryk were victorious at doubles No. 1 (8-5), while Julie Bell/Hannah Al-Sakati clinched the doubles point for Upstate with an 8-6 victory at doubles No. 2.

Talia Rojas picked up a 6-0, 7-6 victory at singles No. 4 over Sarah Moomau, but Longwood claimed four singles matches to claim the match.

Julie Bell was ahead one set to zero at singles No. 2, but her match was not finished.

Upstate will return to action this weekend with a pair of conference matches in the River City.
