JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match in the River City as Jacksonville claimed a 5-2 victory Saturday.
Ramiro Blanco and Matthias Kidler teamed up for an 8-6 victory at doubles No. 1, but the Dolphins won the remaining two doubles matches to take the 1-0 advantage.
In singles action, Pierre Vernin and Gonzalo Blanco each picked up straight set victories. Vernin won at singles No. 5 (6-3, 6-4), while Blanco was victorious at singles No. 3 (7-5, 6-2).
Jacksonville won the remaining four singles matches to claim the conference match.
The Spartans will return to action Friday when they battle Florida Gulf Coast.
