NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A day after blanking Belmont, 7-0, the USC Upstate women's tennis team earned its second straight win with a 6-1 victory over Lipscomb Saturday at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.
Upstate claimed the doubles point as Julie Bell and Hannah Al-Sakati picked up a 9-7 win at doubles No. 2, while Ana-Sofia Camberos and Maria Tonani were victorious at doubles No. 3, 9-8.
The Spartans claimed five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets. Isabel von Stryk (No. 1) claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory, while Talia Rojas picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win.
The trio of Hannah Al-Sakati (No. 4), Ana-Sofia Camberos (No. 5) and Maria Tonani (No. 6) were all victorious by a score of 6-3, 6-1.
The Spartans will close out their home slate next weekend when they welcome Kennesaw State and Mercer to the Upstate Tennis Complex.
