Upstate Women's Tennis Drops Decision at ETSU

Johnson City, Tenn. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at ETSU Saturday afternoon from the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.

ETSU claimed the doubles point by winning the first two matches, beginning with an 8-1 victory by Salma Dahbi and Sofia Espana over Lindsey Buenger and Sarah Vande Berg at No. 3. Lyn Yee Choo and Ana Gerbasi clinched the point with their 8-5 win at No. 1 over Isabel von Stryk and Anna Zoske.  

Jessica Brumit put the Buccaneers ahead 2-0 following her 6-1, 6-0 singles victory over Buenger at No. 5. Dahbi gave ETSU a 3-0 edge with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Vande Berg at No. 6, while Choo sealed the win after she downed von Stryk 6-2, 6-3 from the No. 1 position.

Upstate returns to action Friday at 10 a.m. when the Spartans host Mercer from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
