Spartans Fall to Stetson in A-Sun Opener

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team lost its Atlantic Sun Conference opener on Thursday, falling to Stetson 6-1 at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.

Stetson improves to 5-8 while Upstate drops to 0-14.

Anna Zoske claimed the lone win of the match for the Spartans in a three set triumph at number one singles, 3-6, 7-6 (4), 10-7 over Eveline Lepinay.

The Hatters won the number two and number three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. Carol Sigaki and Vale Zarama held a 5-4 lead in their number one doubles match when it was stopped.

Upstate returns to action on Saturday, facing North Florida at 10 a.m.
