Kennesaw State Defeats Women's Tennis on Senior Day

Spartanburg, S.C. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team spoiled Senior Day for the USC Upstate women's tennis team with a 6-1 victory on Sunday at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex. 

Kennesaw State improves to 3-15 and 2-3, while Upstate falls to 0-19 and 0-5. 

The match began Saturday morning before being postponed to Sunday due to weather following the doubles point. 

Anna Zoske and Filippa Ericson defeated Cristina Martin and Alexandra Mercado 6-4 at number one doubles, before the Owls won the number two and number three doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead. Zoske was honored as part of Senior Day festivities. 

Carol Sigaki claimed Upstate's lone match at number four singles, defeating Isabela Castro 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The Spartans dropped the first, second and third singles matches in three sets. 

Upstate hosts Elon on Thursday at 2 p.m. in its final home match of the regular season.
