Cary, N.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team collected three match victories as the Spartans recently competed at the ITA Carolina Regional hosted by Duke at the Cary Tennis Park.

Upstate had four players compete in singles play and registered two wins in the first round of the main bracket. Felix Ewers defeated Gonzalo Achondo of Coastal Carolina 6-3, 6-1 while Ankush Arora earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Freddie McGeehan of East Carolina. 

In the consolation bracket, Ignacio Garrido defeated Jake Bhangdia of Furman 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (7).

The Spartans close out their fall schedule Nov. 3-5 at the UNCW Challenge in Wilmington, N.C.
