Greenville, S.C. – The Furman Paladins defeated USC Upstate 6-1 in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Mickel Tennis Center.

Furman improves to 8-5 while Upstate drops to 1-9.

The Paladins claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 doubles courts.

Taylor Dodd earned Upstate's lone win of the afternoon at No. 5 singles. Dodd defeated Aryn Greene 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.

Carol Sigaki dropped a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles to Katty Weymouth. After Weymouth won the first set 6-4, Sigaki was a 7-6 (7-0) winner in the second set before dropping the third set 10-6.

Upstate will travel to Samford next Saturday for a 1 p.m. match
