Kennesaw, Ga. – The USC Upstate women's tennis dropped its ASUN Conference opener at Kennesaw State 5-2 on Wednesday morning at the Betty Siegel Courts.

Kennesaw State improves to 5-7 overall and 1-0 in the ASUN while Upstate drops to 2-14 and 0-1.

The Owls clinched the doubles point following a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles and a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Carol Sigaki claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Cristina Perez-Martin at No. 2 singles. Morgan Dodd won her third consecutive singles match, 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Jada Tijani at No. 6 singles.

Upstate will host Lipscomb at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
