DeLand, Fla. – The Stetson women's tennis team defeated USC Upstate 6-1 on Saturday evening at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

Stetson improves to 6-13 overall and 3-3 in ASUN play while Upstate falls to 2-18 and 0-5.

Stetson clinched the doubles point thanks to wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Carol Sigaki and Vale Zarama were 6-4 winners over Maja Salibasic and Arijana Korac at No. 1 doubles before the Hatters claimed a win at No. 2 doubles to draw even in pursuit of the doubles point. The Hatters clinched the point with a 7-6 win at No. 3 doubles.

Sigaki defeated Salibasic 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) at No. 2 singles in her second win of the day. At No. 5 singles, Taylor Dodd dropped a hard-fought match 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-2).

Upstate closes out the regular season next Saturday, welcoming NJIT for a 10 a.m. contest.
