Spartans Fall at Furman

Greenville, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Furman on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. The match was played at the Mickel Tennis Center's indoor courts due to rain. 

Furman improves to 6-6 while USC Upstate drops to 0-9. 

The Paladins clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 1 doubles and completed the doubles sweep with a win in the No. 2 match. 

Furman claimed all six singles matches, four of which were decided by either a 6-0, 6-2 or a 6-2, 6-0 margin. The Paladins claimed the No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-3 and No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1.

USC Upstate is off until Thursday, March 15 when the Spartans travel to Gardner-Webb.
