Boiling Springs, N.C. – Carol Sigaki combined for two victories on the afternoon but the USC Upstate women's tennis team lost 5-2 at Gardner-Webb on Thursday in non-conference action at the GWU Tennis Courts.
Gardner-Webb improves to 2-8 while USC Upstate drops to 1-10.
At #1 doubles, Sigaki and Vale Zarama claimed a 6-3 win over Miljana Ristic and Sandra Bolstad. Gardner-Webb won the #2 and #3 matches to clinch the doubles point.
Sigaki earned a win at #1 singles as she defeated Sarah Rieckmann 6-1, 6-0. Noelia Acuna was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at #2 singles over Bolstad.
