Nashville, Tenn. –The USC Upstate women's tennis team lost their final road match of the 2018 season on Thursday, falling 6-1 to Lipscomb in ASUN Conference play at Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.
Lipscomb is 9-11 overall and 3-2 in the ASUN while USC Upstate falls to 1-18 and 0-5.
Morgan Dodd and Elin Hellberg teamed up for a 6-3 win over Thabile Tshatedi and Kateryna Kandyba at No. 3 doubles. Lipscomb won the No. 1 doubles match 6-3 and clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 2 doubles.
Hellberg picked up the lone singles win of the afternoon for USC Upstate as she defeated Kandyba 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Carol Sigaki dropped her No. 1 singles match to Viktoriya Dzyuba 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Gabriela Cevallos lost in three sets at No. 5 singles to Tshatedi 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
