Daytona Beach, Fla. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision in non-conference play to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on Saturday morning at City Island Tennis Courts.
USC Upstate falls to 1-9 on the season while Bethune-Cookman improves to 4-7 overall.
DOUBLES
The Spartans took the early 1-0 lead over the Wildcats after capturing two of the three doubles matches.
Samuel Schiano and Lucas Percy, playing at No. 3, earned the first victory winning by walkover. The No. 1 combination of Frederick Sydow and Francisco Neto added a 6-3 victory over Victor Castro and Phillip Lynch.
SINGLES
Bethune-Cookman then won four of the six singles matches at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 to pick up the 4-2 victory.
Schiano secured the singles win for USC Upstate at No. 6 winning by walkover.
UP NEXT
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday, March 21 traveling to Elon for a 2:30 p.m. match.
