Series History
Tuesday's meeting between USC Upstate and South Carolina State marks the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs in a series that began during the 2008-09 season. Upstate leads the all-time series 6-2, winning the previous meeting on December 14, 2019, and all four meetings played at the G.B. Hodge Center. In games played at South Carolina State, the series is split 2-2 with the Bulldogs taking the prior meeting in 2018.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Making her USC Upstate debut against Clemson, junior guard Chellia Watson finished as the Spartans leading scorer, dropping 15 points in a career-high 34 minutes. She finished 6-of-15 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc as she led Upstate in both field goals and three-point field goals made. Her first three in a Spartan uniform kickstarted the scoring in last Wednesday's game, marking the first points of the game, the season, and Watson's Spartan career.
 
South Carolina State: Forward Trinity Klock enters Tuesday's game as the Bulldogs leading scorer as she's posted back-to-back double-figure games to open the season. She opened the year with a double-double at Old Dominion with 19 points and 11 rebounds before posting 14 points and eight boards off the bench against Coastal Carolina.

Following the conclusion of the team's two-game road swing to open the season, the Spartans return to the G.B. Hodge Center Friday evening, hosting Columbia International. The game features a 6 p.m. ET tip and airs on ESPN+.
