Series History
The series history between the two programs dates back to Jan. 17, 1976 and the two teams faced each other four times between that date and Feb. 1, 1985. However, since USC Upstate joined the DI ranks prior to the 2007-08 season, the Spartans trail 5-9 in the series. UNC Asheville has taken each of the last seven meetings, and the Spartans have yet to defeat the Bulldogs since becoming Big South Conference members.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Denijsha Wilson and McKinley Brooks-Sumpter continue to lead the Spartans in scoring this season with 11.7 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. Molly Coleman, however, has been leading the team on both ends of the court as of late. She posted four double-doubles in the month of January and leads Upstate on the glass with 6.0 rebounds per game. She is also third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.5 points per game.

UNC Asheville – Nadiria Evans leads the Big South Conference in scoring average with 19.5 points per game. She also averages a team-high 3.3 assists per game. UNC Asheville's second leading scorer averages 13.8 points per game and leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Amaryah Corpening also averages double-figures for the Bulldogs with 11.7 points per game.

The Spartans have a bye weekend before returning home to face Campbell Feb. 19-20. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday from the Hodge.
