Series History
Thursday's match between USC Upstate and Davidson marks just the second all-time meeting between the two programs in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.).  In the series' lone meeting on August 20, 2018, the Wildcats used a 95^th-minute golden goal to earn a 3-2 victory over the Spartans in Davidson, N.C.

Ones to Watch
Upstate: Playing her first career complete match in goal against Wofford, sophomore goalkeeper Cora Brendle corralled a season-high eight saves, including six in the first half. Her eight total saves secured her fifth career match with five or more saves while her six first-half saves tied her career-high for saves in a half—a feat she's accomplished four times in six career matches.
 
Davidson: Taking just one shot in Davidson's match at Presbyterian, senior midfielder Emma Nguyen made the most of her opportunity, burying the shot for her second goal of the season and the eventual game-winner for the Wildcats. Tied for the team lead with two goals this season, she's scored on just six total shot attempts this season, converting 50% of her four shots on goal in 2021.

Continuing its stretch of five of the first six matches in the 2021 season being played at County University Soccer Stadium, Upstate wraps its non-conference schedule, hosting South Carolina State on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
