Renewing the crosstown rivalry, USC Upstate and Wofford are meeting for the 24
th time overall in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.) Tuesday afternoon in a series that has met each season since 2008, except for 2010. The Terriers lead the all-time series 13-10, but the Spartans have taken each of the last two meetings, both under the direction of Upstate head coach

Pitcher: Making the third start and fourth appearance of his career, redshirt freshman right-hander
Lukas Touma gets the ball first for the Spartans Tuesday afternoon. He carries an 0-0 record and 5.62 ERA through 8.0 innings of work this season into his start after tossing 2.0 innings of relief at No. 8 Georgia. Touma has made a pair of starts this season—against George Mason (Feb. 26) and The Citadel (March 9)—with Upstate victorious in both starts.

Position Player: Pushing his season batting average over .300—the fifth .300 or better hitter for the Spartans this season—senior catcher
Damon Maynard hit .438 in five games last week, going 7-for-16 at the plate. He posted three multi-hit efforts on the week and drove home the go-ahead run in an 8-3 win over Cincinnati. On the season, Maynard is hitting .311 (14-of-45) through 18 games and 15 starts.

Wofford:
Pitcher: Righty Dom Marcoccio makes his seventh start of the season for Wofford as he takes the bump for the Terriers in the midweek contest. He sports a 4.71 ERA and a 1-2 record this season. He started the series opener for the Terriers last weekend at Belmont, tossing 2.0 innings, surrendering four hits and three runs (one earned) on 36 pitches.

Position Player: Leading all Wofford hitters, first baseman John Dempsey enters Tuesday's game hitting .394 (28-of-71) while tying for the team lead with 10 extra-base hits. He leads the Terriers with six doubles on the year and has slugged four homers, a total that ranks second on the Terrier club.

UP Next for the Spartans
Following Tuesday's rivalry game, Upstate heads back on the road as Big South play continues at Radford. The Spartans and Highlanders start a three-game series Friday evening a 6 p.m. ET before game two and game three begin at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, Saturday and Sunday.
