SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Indoor Track and Field regular season went just as quickly as it came but now the USC Upstate Track and Field teams are gearing up for the Big South Indoor Championships in Blacksburg, Va.
Friday and Saturday's Meet
Both days of the indoor championships have relatively late starts compared to what the Spartans are used to. Events for the Spartans start at 1:00 P.M. Friday with the W Long Jump. Channing Ferguson and Bryce Ravenell are the first Spartans to see action Saturday as the M High Jump starts at 12:00 P.M.

Event Preview
The Spartans are no stranger to competing in Virginia; they have made that trip every year since the 2017-18 season. Trips to Blacksburg have been less frequent: the last time the Spartans competed at the Rector Field House was in the 2019-20 season.
As far as how the Spartans look when compared to their conference competition this year, Upstate holds strong performances in nearly every event. Across both the men's and women's teams, the Spartans have had 26 top-ten performances this season. Fourteen of those have been in the top five, with Channing Ferguson leading the conference in the Long Jump and being tied for first in the High Jump.
While their past results will not carry much weight in the final standings of this weekend's meet, the Spartans hope to bring momentum into the meet as two separate school records were shattered during their last action.
