ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Carrying the momentum from its final round at the Savannah Intercollegiate and returning to the Peach State for the second consecutive event, USC Upstate men's golf carded its second-lowest 54-hole team total for the second straight event as play wrapped at the Sea Palms Invitational.
 
Opening the event, the Spartans carded their fourth and fifth-lowest team rounds of the year, opening the Sea Palms Invitational with a 290 before posting a 292 in the second round. For the event, Upstate turned in scores of 290-292-303-885 over three rounds as the team's 54-hole total of 885 stood as the team's second-lowest of the season.
 
Leading the way for Upstate were the team's freshmen, Christophe Palmans and Elias Becker who each had career-low 54-hole totals. Palmans led the Spartans, tying for 26^th on the tournament leaderboard behind scores of 70-70-72-212 as his first and second-round totals marked the lowest individual rounds of his career. For Becker, he carded marks of 71-73-76-220 with his first-round 71 standing as the lowest round of his career.

• Leading to his best career finish and career-low 54-hole total, Christophe Palmans tied for 14^th in the tournament field in Par-3 Scoring (3.07; +1).
• Contributing to his career-low 54-hole total, Elias Becker tied for 12^th in the Sea Palms Invitational field in total pars (36) and tied for 14^th in Par-Five Scoring (4.58; -5).
• As a team, Upstate finished fourth in the tournament field in total pars, carding 164 as a group.

The Spartans return to the course in late March, competing at the Seahawk Intercollegiate on March 26-27 in Wilmington, N.C. The two-day event hosted by UNCW tees off from the Country Club of Landfall.
