SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate track and field teams head to Rock Hill for the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational this weekend.
Friday and Saturday's Meet
The Spartans will be heading to Rock Hill for the first of two outdoor meets hosted at Winthrop's facility this season. The second will be the Big South Outdoor Championships in May.
Just like last week, Rachel Davis, Jessa Beach, Sierra St. John, Sommer Goodman, and Jamaiya Jackson will be the first to see action as the women's hammer starts the meet for the Spartans at 1:00 p.m.
Nigel Dos Santos, Jared Keklak, and Chris Post will not be competing in Rock Hill, but instead will see action at the Montreat College Open in Black Mountain, N.C. All three will be participating in the 10K, which begins at 4:00 P.M. Friday.

Event Preview
Reigning Big South Co-Men's Field Athlete of The Week Channing Ferguson will be pushing for another weekly accolade as he is scheduled to compete in the long and high jumps again. Field events dominate the schedule Friday, while the track events get their opportunity to shine Saturday.
Winthrop has been described as a "fast track" for the Spartans, and as such the teams will be hoping to set plenty of personal accolades and records during the weekend's action.

Up Next for The Spartans
The USC Upstate track and field teams will have a week off before splitting between the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. and the Newberry Hub City Invite in Spartanburg. The Duke Invite begins April 7, while the Newberry Hub City Invite begins April 8.
