SPARTANBURG, S.C. - While a handful of Spartans are away for the Duke Invitational, the rest of the team will be competing with homefield advantage during the Newberry Hub City Invitational.
Event Preview
Most of the USC Upstate track and field team will be competing in Spartanburg this weekend. Most events will be taking place at MacCraken Middle School, but the shot put, discus, and hammer throws will all be taking place on Upstate's campus.
Some Spartans will see action in both the Duke Hub City Invitationals. Jessa Beach, Keyandre Davis and Kevon Chapman are scheduled to participate in both of the weekend's meets. In addition, Noah White is scheduled to run the men's 3000m, which would be his first collegiate outdoor track and field action. Another first for the Spartans, Chris Post will be competing in his first collegiate 3K steeplechase tomorrow.
Friday's Meet
This will mark the second year in a row the Spartans have competed in the Hub City. Competition begins for Upstate at 11:00 A.M. with Danielle Brown, Sommer Goodman, and Jamaiya Jackson in the women's shot put.
