USC Upstate: Following up his first Big South weekly award nod, freshman guard
Carmelo Adkins offered a career-best outing Wednesday versus Brevard, finishing the night one marker shy of his career high with 17 points. He added a career-best seven rebounds against the Tornados while tying career highs with four made three-pointers, three assists, and one steal. The reigning Big South Freshman of the Week enters Saturday's game averaging 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while leading the Spartans with 17 made threes.
Western Carolina: Pushing his scoring average into double-figures on the year, redshirt sophomore guard Cord Stansberry poured in a career-best 24 points to lead the Catamounts to an 86-74 victory over Bellarmine Wednesday. The outing marked his fifth of the season in double-figures and his second scoring 20 or more points as he finished 8-of-15 from the field and 4-of-8 from three against the Knights. He averages 11.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game entering Saturday.
