Players to Watch
Upstate: Sophomore, Carmelo Adkins has picked up right where he left off in year two in the Marty Richter system. Adkins is coming off a career night where he added a new career high in points and triples with 23 points while going 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. The Sophomore from Lubbock, Texas is averaging 14.7 points per game while shooting 61 percent from the field and 66 percent from three. Outside of his scoring, Adkins has been active on the boards averaging 5.3 rebounds, including his season high of eight rebounds on Wednesday, November 5th at Fresno State. Carmelo Adkins can make defenders guess with his will to drive to lane, find the open teammate or his quick release from beyond the arc. Adkins will look to continue his versatility in the second consecutive home game against Bob Jones.
Bob Jones: Junior Guard, Brandon Wilkins has opened the season for the Bruins averaging 15.5 points per game, 46 percent from beyond the arc, and shooting 100 percent from the charity stripe. Wilkins added a 20 point performance in the win against Montreat College shooting 50 percent overall and the three-point line. Wilkins will look to spread the floor with the three point line and look to put pressure on the paint trying to draw fouls.
