Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Scoring 17 points—one shy of her career-high—in wins versus UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb last week, redshirt freshman guard
Cassie Gallagher captured her sixth career Big South Freshman of the Week honor. She fashioned her scoring total behind 40.7 percent (11-of-27) percent shooting from the field and 42.9 percent (9-of-21) shooting from beyond the arc, supplementing her totals with six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Gallagher closed her week with a career-best six made field goals and five made three-pointers against Gardner-Webb.
Charleston Southern: Averaging 24.0 points per game while shooting 64.3 percent (18-of-28) from the field, junior guard Catherine Alben earned Big South Player of the Week honors for the third time. She enters the weekend ranked second in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game while upping her scoring average to 19.8 points per contest in league play, pacing the Big South.
