Event Preview

After concluding the regular season and making notable performances at the Big South Outdoor Championship, Rachel Davis and Jessa Beach each earned a qualifying spot in the NCAA East Regional. Davis earned spots in both women's hammer and discus for the first time in her career, while Beach earned a spot in women's hammer for the second consecutive season.

Rachel Davis enters the East Regional after achieving a feat only one other Big South athlete has done: winning gold in hammer, discus, and shot put at the same Championship Meet. For her efforts, Davis won Most Valuable Athlete honors. Davis ranks second in the Big South for hammer (58.19m) and first in discus with a mark of 50.53m, doubling as a school record.

Jessa Beach sets foot in the regional ranked #1 in the Big South for women's hammer with a mark of 58.28m. She has had five different top performances in the event this season. At the Big South Outdoor Championship, Beach earned bronze in both the hammer and discus with throws of 53.81m and 44.24m, respectively.
