Women's Basketball Begins New Year Kicking Off a Two-Game Homestand, Hosting High Point Saturday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Returning home for the first time during Big South Conference play, USC Upstate women's basketball begins one of three two-game homestands during league play, hosting High Point at the G.B. Hodge Center. Upstate enters the 18th meeting between the two clubs seeking a third win in the series—both previous coming under the direction of head coach Jason Williams—Saturday, taking the court for the first time in the new year with a 4 p.m. ET tip.

USC Upstate: Leading the Spartans in scoring and rebounding Wednesday in the team's Big South opener versus Charleston Southern, graduate student forward Aijah Palmore notched the lone double-double in conference play, her third of the season, behind her 16-point, 14-rebound performance. She ranks second in the Big South in total rebounds (101) and rebounds per game (7.2) entering Saturday's contest, leading the league with her 14 rebounds during Big South play. Palmore totals six double-digit rebounding games this season, a conference-high, recording 10-plus rebounds in four of her last five contests.
 
High Point: One of two Panthers with 25 points in the team's Big South opener versus UNC Asheville, graduate student guard Aaliyah Collins enters Saturday's contest ranked atop the league in six statistical categories. She paces the league in assists (68), assists per game (4.9), field goal attempts (192), field goals (102), steals (36), and steals per game (2.57). Collins ranks second in the Big South—to her teammate, junior guard Macy Spencer (18.1 PPG)—in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per contest, posting double-figure scoring in 11 games in 2025-26.
