
Taliyah Thomas’ impact through loaded week helps her secure Big South Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coming into a new month, the Big South Conference announced Softball weekly awards where Senior outfielder, Taliyah Thomas was named Big South Softball Player of the Week after an impactful week for the Spartans.Â
The Senior from Iron Station, North Carolina appeared and started in eight games where she went 15-for-22 at the plate; 11 runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, four stolen bases and batted .600 through all eight games. Through the loaded week, Thomas had five games with two or more hits (two vs. Furman in game one, three vs. Furman in Game two, three vs. Troy, two vs. Virginia Tech and two vs. Auburn). Taliyah Thomas leads Upstate with a .493 batting average, .746 slugging percentage, tied first with four home runs, 50 total bases, 33 hits, and 15 stolen bases. As she continues to build on her senior year, Taliyah Thomas has continued to lead by example with consistency and leadership while having much experience with a loaded resume. Thomas is currently sitting at 97 stolen bases and with more action ahead she will easily surpass 100. As the accolades continue to build on her resume, Taliyah Thomas adds her first weekly honor continuing to cement her name into history.Â
