SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head Coach, Marty Richter announced Jalyn Patterson to the 2026-27 signing class for USC Upstate Men's Basketball ahead of the new campaign. Patterson transfers from Navarro College where he was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs.
Patterson led the Bulldogs with 14 points a game and displayed his two-way presence leading the way with two steals. Jalyn Patterson's impactful season was enough to earn him recognition of being named second team all-conference. Patterson's hoops background extends to being a standout student-athlete at Minnesota Prep Academy Trip School, where he averaged 28 points, scoring over 2,500 points throughout his career and 1,000 points during his senior year. Patterson also played for J Sizzle, averaging 15 points continuing to show his natural will as a scorer.
Head Coach Marty Richter expressed his excitement for adding Patterson for the upcoming year, mentioning, "Jalyn is a point guard who has shown the ability to both create and set the table for his teammates. We're excited to see the difference he will be able to make both on and off the court when he arrives this summer!"
Jalyn Patterson looks to take the next step in his collegiate career and be another building block in the Marty Richter system where his explosiveness will stand out in the Big South. As he prepares to embark on a new journey in the summer, Jalyn Patterson will be a player to keep an eye on heading into the new campaign.
