Desean Bullock joins USC Upstate’s Athletics external relations team January 13, 2025 after serving at Point University over the last three years. For the Spartans he will be the primary point of contact for Upstate’s Men’s Basketball, Softball, and Men’s Soccer.
Bullock has an undergraduate degree (2021) from Faulkner University where he began working with Faulkner Sports Network as a student broadcaster and producer. Recently, Bullock served as the Sports Information Director for the Skyhawks where he oversaw the 13 Sports and helped oversee the promotion of the Inaugural Women’s Flag Football program in 2023. Bullock also oversaw the coverage of the Point Women’s Basketball winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship in 2022 which was the first Conference Championship in school history. The Sports Information Department saw a new direction under as he rebranded the department name and logo to “Skyhawk Sports Network” which featured livestreams, behind the scenes footage, and spotlights on each team. During his tenure, the Network picked up their most viewed stream with 7.1K Views for a Football Game which was the most in school history.
Desean Bullock was named to the College Sports Communicators Class of 2023 30 Under 30 which honors emerging strategic, creative, and digital communications professionals. Bullock also served as panelist at the CSC Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada which featured Five Different Black Men from Diverse Institutions for the first time in CSC History. In June 2024, Bullock was awarded his first Creative & Digital Design Contest Award for the category of "Hype/Pre-Game Video" as the best in the NAIA Category. Outside of Point, Bullock served as the Graphics Coordinator for the NAIA Softball World Series in 2023 & 2024 which was featured on ESPN+. Desean Bullock served as the PA Announcer for the NCAA Division II, SIAC Softball Tournament.
A native of Hernando, Miss., Bullock comes in with experience with working with graphics for ESPN+ Broadcasts and many years of camera operating experience.
