Enjoy a pregame tailgate in front of the Hodge beginning at Noon featuring live TV, cornhole, KanJam, a DJ and more. Plus, Chick-fil-A sandwiches and beer (in addition to non-alcoholic beverages) will be on-sale as well. Alumni affairs and other academic units will also be present. The tailgate continues through 4:00 pm.

Series History
This is the 14th all-time meeting between USC Upstate and Campbell University in USC Upstate's Division I era. Campbell has taken the last six matchups against the Spartans, most recently on Dec. 31, 2019 in Buies Creek, N.C.
The first meeting between the two teams this season was a 50-38 road setback for the Spartans last month.
Kathryn Kirkwood was an efficient 4-of-7 from the field and ended with a team-high 10 points while
Michaela Gibbons recorded a team-best six rebounds.
Brianna Lewis contributed six assists in the loss. Campbell's Taya Bolden ended with a 12-point, 12-rebound effort, and Ashlyn Hampton posted 11 points. A win on Saturday would give the Spartans their first victory over the Camels since Dec. 16, 2010.

UPSTATE – Senior guard
Brianna Lewis returned to the starting lineup Saturday against Presbyterian and led the Spartans with 15 points in a 55-42 loss to the Blue Hose.
Barrett Herring also scored in double-digits with 10 points while she and
Riley Popplewell led the Spartans on the glass with eight boards each.
Kathryn Kirkwood led the bench in scoring for the fourth straight game with seven points.
Campbell – The Big South-leading Camels are coming off their seventh straight victory, a 43-32 win at Radford on Tuesday. Kianna Speight led the way with 11 points followed by Hayley Barber with nine points and boards.

UPSTATE – USC Upstate's leading scorer
Brianna Lewis is back in the starting rotation averaging 13.1 points per game and 5.3 assists per game.
Riley Popplewell continues to be a force in the paint with a Big South sixth-best rebounding average of 6.9 boards per game, and
Barrett Herring is fourth in the Big South with 1.5 blocks per game.
Campbell – The Camels are led offensively by Shy Tuelle with 9.4 points per game. Taya Bolden is pulling down a team-best 7.3 rebounds per game. Campbell leads the nation in scoring defense, limiting their opponents to an average 49.3 points per game. They also rank third in Big South field goal percentage.

Historical Win
With a 77-74 victory over Presbyterian on Thursday night the USC Upstate men's basketball program eclipsed their 800th win in program history. The 800th win was a thriller at Presbyterian as the Spartans won on a last second shot by sophomore guard
Everette Hammond.

Series History
This is the 13th Division I era meeting betwee USC Upstate and Campbell University. The Camels hold an 8-4 overall advantage in the series and they have won the past three meetings dating back to the 2017-2018 season. The Spartans last win over the Camels occured in Charleston, S.C. when the Spartans held on for an 80-73 overtime win. USC Upstate's last home win against the Camels came on January 24, 2009 in a 73-65 victory.Â

Everette Hammond in-bounded the pass to
Nevin Zink who passed it right back to Hammond. The sophomore guard split a pair of defenders as he crossed the mid-court line and threw up a last second three near the top of the key. The basketball rattled in and the Spartans bench mobbed Hammond for his heroics. The play ended the night at No. 3 on Sportcenter's Top 10 list.
Campbell – Campbell is coming off a 62-57 loss to High Point on Thursday evening. The Panthers outscored the Camels 39-19 in the second half with John-Michael Wright scoring 23 of his 30-points in the second half. Campbell's leading scorer Jordan Whitfield had 12-points and cory Gensler added 10-points in the loss.

UPSTATE – USC Upstate freshman guard
Tommy Bruner scored a career high 28-points in the Spartans 77-74 win over Presbyterian on Thursday night. His 28-point outburst was just his second career game of 20 or more points. Since the conference portion of the schedule began Bruner has reached double-figures in eight of nine contests.
Everette Hammond is the leading scorer for the Spartans so far this season with an even 15 points per game. Â
Campbell – Cedric Henderson Jr., is thel leading scorer for the Camels with 11.8 points per game, Henderson is also the top shot blocker on the team with 15 blocks this season. Whitfield is the second leading scorer on the team with 10.2 points per contest. Gensler is the team's leading rebounder with 96 total boards on the season and he is tied for the team lead in steals with 35.

The Spartans will be on the road this coming Thursday as they travel to UNC Asheville for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.

The next home basketball game for the Spartans will be next Saturday afternoon when they take on the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. inside the G.B. Hodge Center.
