Bedell Cracks Individual National Top-100

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate senior golfer Reid Bedell (Fair Haven, N.J.) joins Spartan alum Ryan Cornfield as the only Spartans ever to crack the national top-100 by Golfstat.com.

"It's a really cool honor, I'm really happy to have played well all year," Bedell said. "I've always considered myself to be a consistent golfer but now to be able to do it in college and on the biggest stage, I'm honored."

"Reid is having a strong year and it's no doubt his hard work is taking him to this level," USC Upstate head golf coach Todd Lawton said. "He's very talented but a key difference this season has been his patience during competition. So proud of what he's doing and excited to see him continue to grow."

Bedell has already been named the Big South Golfer of the Week twice and most recently earned the accolade after a third place finish at the SeaBest Seafood at TPC Sawgrass Invitational. At the event Bedell took down a trio of top-30 players, including UNLV's Jack Trent who was previously ranked No.10 in the nation by Golfstat.

Bedell's average score this season is 71.10 and he has a pair of wins over top-50 players. The senior is 5-2 this season against opponents who rank between 51-100. Bedell and the rest of the USC Upstate men's golf team will be back in action on Monday, March 16^th at the ECU Brooke Valley Invitational.
