Men's Golf Alec Prentice and Phuthanate Kangwol Each Collect Big South Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Claiming the program's first Big South Weekly awards this season, Alec Prentice has been tabbed the Big South Men's Golfer of the Week. Phuthanate Kangwol is the Men's Big South Freshman of the Week.

At the Golden Nugget Invitational, Alec Prentice finished tied for fifth with a score of nine-under par. Prentice shot 68-67-72 for a score of 207. This marked his second top-five finish in a tournament this season. His nine-under finish puts him tied for third in the school record book for a player's low 54-hole total.

Earning his first career Big South Weekly award, Phuthanate Kangwol received Freshman of the Week Honors. Kangwol appeared in his first spring tournament for the Spartans, finishing even with par. He carded a 215, showing a consistent performance in the first two rounds with a score of 73, followed by a 70 in the final round.
