Biography
2019-2020 (Senior): Bedell’s senior season will go down as one of the best in program history, despite being cut short due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. At season’s end, Bedell ranked No. 78 nationally becoming just the third Spartan ever to crack the National Top-100. The New Jersey native earned a spot on the PING All-Southeast Region Team, becoming the first Spartan in the Division I era to be named to the list. Bedell was a two-time Big South Golfer of the Week and led both the Big South Conference and team with a 70.31 scoring average. The mark also set a new school record for the third year player. Bedell’s 66 in the second round of the Sea Best Invitational tied for the fourth lowest round in the Big South. At season’s end Bedell tied for the Conference lead with four top-10 finishes, he led the team with a trio of top-5 finishes and he earned co-medalist honors at the USC Upstate One Day Invitational.
2018-19 (Junior): Appeared in 10 events playing in 27 rounds his junior season. He ranks third on the team in stroke average with a 73.41 this season, and had a season low 68 shot second round in the Big South Men’s Golf Championship. He has three top ten finishes that included a 6th place finish at the Big South Men’s Golf Championship (Apr. 17-19), a 10th place finish at the Wofford Invitational (Apr. 1-2), and a 10th place finish at the Southern Intercollegiates (Apr. 15).
2017-18 (Sophomore): Was one of three players to play in all 27 rounds and 10 events…Ranked second on the team with a 75.15 stroke average… Finished four-over relative to par…Compiled 24 rounds with scores in the 70’s or better…Posted the lowest round of the season with a 5-under 67 during the third round of the East Bay Deli Classic…Recorded one top-5 and one top-10 finish…Had a season-best finish of tied for fourth at the East Bay Deli Classic… Added a tied for 11th place finish at the season-opening Bridgestone Stroke Play.
Prior to USC Upstate: Played one season at Lafayette…Earned co-champion honors with the Navy Fall Classic finishing at 3-under par 68…Added a top-10 finish at the Towson Spring Invitational…Earned a 23rd place showing at the 2017 Patriot League Championships.
Personal: Born on October 2, 1997…Parents are Donald and Paige Bedell…Has one brother, Donald, and one sister, Lily…His father played football collegiately at Colgate while his brother played football at Rutgers and sister earned lacrosse letters at Lafayette…Is majoring in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in english.
