JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team fell 6-1 to ETSU on Tuesday afternoon at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.
The Buccaneers won the doubles point with wins at the No.1 and No. 3 flights. The No.2 doubles tandem of
Gabriela Cevallos and
Morgan Valentine gave it their all and came up short with a 7-6 loss that resulted in a doubles sweep for ETSU.
In singles action ETSU got the better of USC Upstate on a majority of the courts as the Spartans fell in straight sets.
Roberta Armani lost the first set at the No. 6 singles flight but fought back to win the second set. In the third and final set Armani picked up a 10-4 set win to secure the No. 6 court win over ETSU.
The women's tennis team will begin Big South Conference action this coming Saturday on the road at Charleston Southern University.
