Series History
Wednesday's meeting between USC Upstate and Longwood marks the ninth all-time meeting between the programs in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.). The Spartans and Lancers met twice (2009-10; 2010-11) ahead of Upstate's Big South membership (2018-19-pres.) with Upstate taking the first three matches in the series before Longwood has captured the last five to lead the all-time series 5-3.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Averaging 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last week, freshman guard Rachael Rose earned her program-record-tying fourth conference weekly award with her selection as the Big South's Freshman of the Week. She tallied a double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds) against High Point before adding 11 points against North Carolina A&T while finishing last week with an 8-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
Longwood: Averaging 16.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 55.8 percent from the field, forward Akila Smith leads Longwood on both ends of the floor this season. She ranks top-five in the Big South in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage and is one of two Lancers averaging 16 or more points per game this season.
