GADSDEN, Ala. – Competing for the second time this season following a two-week hiatus from competition, USC Upstate mens' golf battled the tough Backbreaker and Heartbreaker courses at RTJ at Silver Lakes as play at the Graeme McDowell Invitational wrapped Tuesday afternoon.
Making his collegiate debut, freshman
Elias Becker found himself in the Graeme McDowell Invitational's top-25 throughout the duration of the event, claiming a tie for 23
rd in his first collegiate tournament. He fashioned scores of 75-76-77-228 with his opening-round 75 tying for the lowest single round by a Spartan at the event.

Brady Hinkle jumping 16 spots, tying for 46
th, and freshman
Christophe Palmans jumped nine spots, placing 62
nd. Both men posted final-round 75s as Hinkle carded marks of 82-79-75-236 while Palmans wrote in scores of 83-83-75-241.
As a team, Upstate marked down totals of 316-319-314-949 to place 12
th at the Graeme McDowell Invitational.
