SAVANNAH, Ga. – On the course for the second time this spring and looking to build upon a strong final-round effort at the Sea Best Invitational, USC Upstate men's golf forged another strong final day, cutting 19-20 strokes off the team's totals from rounds one and two as play concluded at the Savannah Intercollegiate Sunday.
 
After opening the tournament with rounds of 305 and 304 Saturday, each member of the Spartans' five-some carded their lowest 18-hole scores of the event Sunday as the team combined to shoot a 285, the team's second-lowest round score of the season. With its scores of 305-304-285-894, Upstate finished ninth at the Savannah Intercollegiate.
 
For the second straight event in the spring campaign, senior Brady Hinkle paced the Spartans, firing a sub-70 final round as he garnered his first top-10 finish of the season. Turning in marks of 72-76-69-217, he tied for ninth on the leaderboard with his final round representing his fourth sub-70 round of the season.
 
Finishing just outside a top-25 finish, freshman Elias Becker turned in scores of 76-74-72-222, tying for 26^th at the Savannah Intercollegiate. His 54-hole total and final-round 72 marked career lows for Becker as he was joined by junior Sebastian Trujillio—using a final-round 73—in securing a season-low 18-hole total.

Notable

• Earning his first top-10 finish of the season, Brady Hinkle tied for the tournament lead in total pars (40), tied for fourth in Par-5 Scoring (4.67; -4), and tied for ninth in Par-3 Scoring (3.08; +1).
• On the 454-yard, Par-4 second hole at The Club at Savannah Harbor, Elias Becker carded his first career eagle. The eagle was one of four in the tournament.

 
Up Next for the Spartans
After concluding the Savannah Intercollegiate, the Spartans have a two-and-a-half-week break before hitting the course at the Sea Palms Invitational. The three-day event tees off from Sea Palms Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga. from March 9-11.
